Enterprises are coming to terms with the inevitability of cyber-attacks and Chief Security Officers are changing their security strategies as a result, according to research.
We surveyed over 1,000 people and used data from a recent PAC survey on 200 large companies across Europe to build a picture of the cyber threat landscape. We found that with 100% of companies having been breached at some point, and 67% of those in the past year, data breaches are somewhat inevitable.
For businesses, this means the traditional “prevent and protect” mentality alone is not enough. IT is shifting towards “detect and respond” to deal with breaches quickly and efficiently when the inevitable occurs.
